Each unit has a meter and circuit breaker box in the basement. Units on the west side of the building (01-06) have meters/boxes in the laundry area; units on the east side (07-12), in the storage area. Most units have now upgraded their wiring and have wall panels with circuit breakers inside the unit, often in or near the kitchen. If you don’t have one, you are using the original 1929 circuits. Adding some circuits and a panel can provide additional electrical capacity and convenience.
If you have an outage, unplug or turn off the offending appliance or machine and reset the circuit breaker in your unit or in the basement.
Your electrician can find your meter in the basement.
